Who is Head in the clouds?

I’m Emily!

Design has always been a part of my world. From my first job in retail and moving into a merchandising role, to traveling for new store openings, interning in window and floor display at Anthropologie, completing the Home Staging course at IPA College, and earning my BA in Graphic Design from Rutgers University — design, in every form, has shaped me creatively.

But without a doubt, interior design is where I feel most at home. I’ve lived in many types of spaces — high-rise apartments, condos, row homes, and a suburban home — and in each one, I’ve created environments that are both beautiful and functional.

In 2020, we put down roots in an 1869 farmhouse. This home ignited my passion. Bringing it “back from the dead” and giving it new life is a feeling I want everyone who is ready to revamp their home to experience.

Why Head in the clouds?

Sometimes you have the ideas, but unsure of the execution. Maybe you are overwhelmed with the notion of revamping your space and do not know where to start.

At HITC, we do the heavy lifting for you. Let me transform your space into a place you do not want to leave. A place that becomes a tangible vision of your taste. A place for dreaming, unwinding, and to experience ultimate comfort.

I truly believe, your home, needs to be your sanctuary. You should be surrounded by things you love and memories draped around you.

  • "Emily is a magician! My office needed serious overhaul, and she came in and transformed it into a place that serves multiple functions, each with distinct spaces and so much breathing room. It went beyond the visual and space-saving solutions — she really listened and cared about how how I would feel in my room. She placed a lot of emphasis on making sure I would feel happy to spend many hours in the room, considering I work from home and need to spend hours at a time there. Importantly, Emily took the time to understand my aesthetic. She never tried to push me in a direction that felt like her or what she wanted — simply guided me toward the choices that aligned with my goals and my taste. It was beyond helpful to have her opinion. On top of that, she was so patient and understanding when I would have bouts of indecision or changed my mind on a color or piece of furniture. She was a true partner when I needed, or took the lead when I needed. Emily delivered on creating a multi-functional space that serves as an office, an art studio, a yoga room, a flexible guest room, and my cat’s bedroom — all through the lens of my taste, and all in a small rowhouse spare room. I highly, highly recommend working with her."
